“Variety is the spice of life!”
And what could be spicier than 2 girls kicking it up in the kitchen, looking fantastic and violating various health codes*?

So let’s meet the authors:
Hi! My name is Vanessa and I’m a 24 year old writer, voracious reader, political junkie, fashion addict, and blossoming foodie. I also happen to be the daughter of an incredible cook. Unfortunately, despite looking exactly like my mom, I got shorted in cooking ability. For twenty-odd years, this wasn’t a big deal because I never had to cook. My mom was happy to do it. But then I moved off campus (goodbye nasty cafeteria food!) and got my own apartment. I couldn’t cook much beyond spaghetti, macaroni from a box, and grilled cheese. Thanks to my mom, I know good food. So my three dish rotation got old real fast and I knew I had to change something, both for my sanity and my health. Let’s be honest, I’m not 16 anymore and neither is my metabolism!
I grew up surrounded by a family that loved food. My mom’s family couldn’t be outdone on their holiday spreads. My dad knew his way around a kitchen, and was always willing to experiment with recipes. My Polish grandmother gave me a love of homemade baked goods…and my hips have yet to forget about them. I spent one year working in a kitchen while going to college. It was the most fun I’d ever had at work. Since then I’ve bounced around in jobs; zamboni driver, reporter, NPR radio intern. After graduating with a degree in Journalism (minor in French, hence all the french bits you’ll see around here), I moved to South Carolina to be a nanny for a family I barely knew. And that’s when I became a Mrs.
Now I’m back in my home state for half a year, just blogging, cooking and waiting to see where the military will take us next!
I love my husband, writing, cooking, all things French and my dog Boo. This blog will contain gratuitous amounts of all 5.
